Barry Allen for Topfield 7700

Code:
Multipart installer and Barry Allen for Topfield
-------------------------------------------------- -------

Barry Allen (BA) is a tool that allows multiple images on a USB stick or HDD-Box can be operated in parallel. Do as. Tar.gz file available.

The multipart Installer (MPI) is used on the PC to install BA and the images on the box and their management. Is in the database.

Basically, the procedure is as follows:

a) decision, where BA is to be installed. Only on the drive (HDD can be) completely intact, only on the HDD (it does not need a stick inserted in the operation), or stick and HDD

b) then either drive (partition) formatted with ext2 or ext3 and XBA denote a volume label, or a partition of the HDD (more specifically identified below), referred to as the XBA, or both. Can be done with MPI or by hand with telnet

c install) with MPI, the BA to the desired target (stick, HDD, both). Option Installs BA "in MPI. That is the BA partition.

d) with the MPI / the desired images on the BA copy partition. Options Install Images "for stand-alone images (safe option, slow) or" Install Images (1p) for images with the same kernel as in flash (boot faster)

e) with MPI to manage the images

We begin with the invocation of MPI.

IP Address: IP of the Box
Server IP: the IP of the PC
Telnet user: root, Password: your password has been assigned, if any, otherwise left blank
FTP user: root, Password: your password has been assigned, if any, otherwise left blank

Installed Images:
Topfield are installed in the image, there is at least the flash image

UFS_Images:
A copy of the root.tar.gz files of each image.

Installed when installing an image (image-or-Installs Image (1p)) is root.tar.gz copied from the Windows HDD to UFS_Images, then unpacked and appears in the Installed Images ". There it can select (click) and delete to be processed with the right mouse button (the default boot image, etc.).

Flash refers to the image that lies in the internal flash memory and on the internal HDD on / dev/sda1. From the always booted if the USB stick is removed and no other BA image is installed.
In the flash of the Topfield is the kernel, this kernel is used to start the 1p Images.

MPI uses a Signaturfile to control the contained features.
When an image is used, which contains this Signaturfile not be displayed on startup and connect to the Topfield information that could indicate UFS910.

Installation of BA

Step a) as shown above:

BA can be in the pot on each partition to install, not only on a USB stick, but also on the internal HDD, it remains free of the USB port. The BA partition must be formatted in Ext2 or Ext3 and the volume label contains XBA.
Further, it is possible to create on the internal HDD one XBA partition and in addition to a USB stick, plugged in the USB stick is used XBA always preferred.

Step b) as shown above:

To generate the BA partition on a USB stick (easy version for beginners, Attention: Stick is completely erased! Not delete the record!):

Stick to the USB port
Then one of the two variants

Option 1:
USB / HDD View menu at the MPI
Stick Select, Right-click, format ext2 or ext3

Option 2:
with telnet on the box
umount / dev/sdb1
mkfs.ext2 XBA-L-b 4096 / dev/sdb1

To generate the BA partition on the internal HDD (advanced):

Option 1:
with telnet on the box
Use with "tune2fs-L XBA / dev/sda3" as the movie Partinion BA.
Is simple, but the problem has resolved that the movie will be viewable partition soft links and the user may be time to clean up and BA

Option 2:
HDD to expand and connect the PC to shrink with Geparted the movie at 4 GB partition at the end and create an ext2 partition XBA to install HDD into the pot clean again and BA

Step c) as shown above:

After the partition was created BA, BA is now installed there

"Installed choose BA" to complete the BA installation on a USB stick or on the internal HDD.
After installing the BA version, please re-MPI, then the MPI functions should correctly display

Code:

New Barry Allen 0.76 for Topfield 7700
V0.76
- fix 1P Image mount RECORD /media/hdd

Fix for Olympia 1P Images with BA 0.76
There is a fix with 1P for the use of MPI in conjunction Images

The attached file is only for V1 and Olympia Olympia V2 Images in Flash!

with Fix You could return after the installation of MPI, the images from the stick start, have the standby problem, not the HDD and the speed advantage because the kernel is in Flash.

It is supported only Olympic image as 1p!

the file is only in the Flash Image Copies to the following places

/ etc / init.d

Another prerequisite is the installation of BA 0.76 on the stick!
