I double double ban you, ig0r:):nana:, for confirming that my post was too long ...

If only I could ban Mr. Water from coming back again one day:rolleyes:, unieno:) ...
If NERO had been the head of Siam and had done to Bangkok what he is being told to have (rather willingly accepted than to have) done to ancient Rome, you may have got some money from your insurance company;), but no way if you haven´t got insurance for Neptunes cruel games with mankind:mecry:.
(After the last flood such an insurance policy may probably not be offered any more, anyway, but if though, it must be horribly expensive:rolleyes:.)

I never got into it, with my first PC and no internet, I played all the games Windows offers (heart etc) then
Poker a bit til I got bored, I just dont have the time to play - its that I cannot stop once I start and have no discipline

Ill ban Ig0r because he is not aware that in fun and games
thread we can write stories etc as much and as long as we want, as long as it isnt boring ;)

Yes, I love pc games, renee:).
I must be depressive or else ill, if I don´t want to play:D. Playing games wakes me up - one needs to concentrate on s.th. (enemies in most cases) to win or survive. Games mean adventures / excitement you don´t ususally get in every day´s life. Modern games are as suspense-packed like cinema movies and to some degree oneself is directing:D.

The usual windows games (card games, chess, etc.) are excercises for the brain, but far away from being a thrill. If I only had tried those, I probably wouldn´t play any longer. A good game for me is one that makes me want to go on, that makes me curious enough to let me go on and find out what´s behind the next corner. Disadvantage: I often want to play for only one hour and then rather end up with three or four.;)

I showed some parts of "Thief III" to friend #2 last sunday - he didn´t play games for some years, but now he wants to try that game:D. Fascinating medieval scenery with monastery, orphanage, old library, dark alleys between old houses, different brotherhoods and you in between trying to hide in the shadows while stealing things and avoiding to get caught by patrols all accompanied by a fascinating story. Thief IV is predicted to get released this year and, if it does, I´ll cetrainly buy it:D.

BB. King - I was blue / depressed that day. His music cheered me up. Was just in the right mood.

No ban today.

Iceblocks on the baltic sea, today (8 m high - and it´s salty marine water!).
Minus! 12 oC outside my door this morning - night was even colder.
Last week´s lowest temperature (somewhere in germany - not at my home) was minus! 32,5 oC.
One of the coldest winters the last 100 years!

Hope you don´t have it as too hot in your sunny countries, as we´ve got it too cold in ours. If only we could mix:D.

Couldn´t watch youtube vid (GEMA:rolleyes:) , a911:). I could have watched it with a firefox plugin - but the plugin makes youtube playback and firefox instable (browser closes without warning).

Hope you´re all well:thum:.

goosebumps, when watching the video

Sorry she had to go:mecry: - R.I.P..

Sorry, too, she ruined her voice with drugs:mecry:. It was a pity to see this woman in such a state. You can find vids on youtube how she sounded, but I won´t post one here.

Would have been nice if she had managed a comeback - phoenix reborn from the ashes.

Maybe she fled from earth - world press only had bad comments on her since she went back on stage. One week before she died I read a headline like "W.H. ruined - record sales won´t reach to pay for her debts - soon she may even become homeless".

And now the same people are all shocked and mourning ...

---

So many good ones left. The newcomers of our times will get the same reviews by the young generation - it´s always those we grow up with, whose loss touches us the most.

---

Still cold in europe - but snow is going to melt this week in germany.

Yes, it was a shock to hear about W.H. then again, like
with Amy Winehouse, it was to be expected.
Its just a damn pity and I call it a sin to waste such talent,
makes me mad sometimes because there are people in wheelchairs, paralyzed
or are sick, they would be happy just to live a normal life, and these people just throw it away.

Well, today your President said goodbye, I must compliment the press for getting him out of office, not that I ever
was a great fan of Wulff, its the third they got out,
I dont understand this, people want a perfect human being,
holier than thou in the office
Actually, I prefer a sinner :D

No ban from me either :thum:

Last day of carnival/Mardi Gras in Germany, today, renee:).

Will have some crackers, camembert cheese, fruit and wine, maybe later some whisky, too, as a replacement for my supper this evening. Very healthy:D.
But, I´ll have a day for the living and forget about the dead (despite tragic ending of W.H. - R.I.P.) - today, at least;).

Need to be egoistic today, because I´m in a bad mood.
Twisted my left knee this week, when I kneeled down on the floor of my kitchen to feed Püppi. Sometimes I let her inside the house - but I must leave all doors open, let the cold come in and I nearly can´t move around or work s.th., when Püppi is around. She always seats herself down at a strategic point of the room and blocks all pathways. If I moved somewhere towards the open door she would run out, leaving her food bowl untouched. It´s always the same - I want her to warm up at cold days from time to time and then have to play the immobile statue.
In addition two vertebrae started aching again (seem to be damaged again - osteoporosis). Don´t dare to move too much at the moment ...

So I will relax this evening with a drink.
Yes, a drink with alcohol, ig0r;):).

---

New german president was found quickly this time - having been proposed as a candidate for some elections before already, now he dit.
There probably will be a lot of talk about the First Lady, because married Mr. Gauck will live with his girl friend, not his wife in future (will get divorced later). First headlines already ask "Who is the woman at his side?".
Seeking for stories:rolleyes: ...

---

Some music, but no ban this time.

care what happen there, am reading US and Dutch
news and since I have Dutch Canal+ I also see the news and newsprograms, I like them better than the German ones :thum:

Yes, cats are strange , my cookie is pestering me every night now, she wants me to open and close the bedroom door at least three times during the night , she wont stop piepsing , then in the morning when I get up...she is sleeping deeply until the early afternoon

I do hope your pain is better and that you can move without pain :)

As a teenager, I listened Dutch radio (Hilversum 3. TROS, NOS, AVRO, etc.) more than german stations, renee:). Could have walked to the Netherlands within only few hours, where me and my parents lived.
I still understand a bit Dutch. If I watched their channels regularly, I could perhaps improve my knpwledge and understanding again.
Wonder, why you watch Canal+ (Dutch with english subtitles? Without subtitles? English movies with dutch subtitles? - The latter, I suppose.), renee?
Why did you take their channels into consideration? Do they offer s.th. special? (Latest american movies, etc.)?
I always thought your origins came from somewhere in Bavaria, where listening to Dutch radio channels / watching dutch tv channels can be considered exceptional, not a usual habit , or are only some of your relatives living there (70 km away from me), but you yourself come from somewhere close to the Netherlands? Do you speak Dutch?
I´m probably getting some things wrong, but I ask this because you say you are reading dutch NEWS. I suppose, the news are really only in dutch and don´t have any subtitles in german/english language.
I myself can receive two or even more free dutch tv stations that are not encrypted on ASTRA 19,2. I watched some broadcasts for some minutes, but the program wasn´t so entertaining that I would have gone on for long.
Even tried polish (from Poland - no, I did not polish my tv set:D) tv sometimes. Listened to music on culture channel, e.g. Beethoven violin concert, but of course I didn´t understand one word if anything was announced or if a polish movie was shown. So I didn´t repeat my visits to that channel very often.
Yes, german news ....

Rather like watching scientific, historical, cultural broadcasts (History channel, Discovery channel, National Geographic, 3Sat, Phoenix, ARTE) nowadays - nearly no free tv (RTL, Pro7, etc.) at all any more.

Meanwhile I have become fed up with free tv. At least the last two months I even missed all broadcasts of "Wer wird Millionär" (quiz), a series that I used to watch regularly before, no more "Desperate Housewifes" or "Dr. House", too - all is getting too predictable.
But I maybe watched two or three broadcasts of "Kocharena" (cooking show on VOX) and the same amount of "Little Britain" or "Southpark" (on Comedy Central - they just repeat too often and too much for me, I know the gags by heart, already) during the last quarter of a year.
Program better on Canal+?

---

Of course no ban for you, ig0r:). We´re all (I suppose) always happy to read a post from you and from each other. I won´t ban you, so that you can return here, soon again;).

---

I won´t ban anybody.
Now one of you may ban me for my long post about tv:mecry:,
but can you- after this vid?

To answer your question ararat, when I go on vacation , I usually have Dutch people stay in the house, they
want Dutch TV, I dont speak Dutch but understand 90 % , except dialects and some jokes as some Dutch comics
love to play with words,f.i. a particular word has a different meaning , usually a naughty one :D

They also have a nightly Political/show biz/Art talkshow
and once a week interviews with an intelligent interviewer and a well known writer/politician/singer/actor, I just
saw a documentary about Arthur Rubinstein , he was a facinating man, a genius at the piano and a genuine happy person with a great sense of humor, luckily I could download
that one hour doc from the TV station :thum:

Yes, its getting warm here also and soon I will be bitching and moaning about the hot weather

A great weekend all :thum:

You´re very caring for your housesitters, renee:), providing them with Dutch tv program. Sometimes I like to watch Dutch broadcasts, too, because the languge often sounds funny to german ears.

My niece is in Amsterdam at the moment - just wrote me a postcard - she very much likes the city.

It´s getting cold outside - the north of Germany even got some snow today - here in the south, where I live, sun is shining, but not too warm, too.

Will have to pick up my car from garage this afternoon - hope it´s got new 2 year allowance.
Must hurry - my doctor´s weekly visit (injection) is near (in 1 hour). Had no breakfast until now.

No ban - because I lack time:D.
Keep well, all of you:):thum:
