Amiko A3 Android
Satellite Receiver & Android Media Center The Amiko A3 is the next generation of satellite Set Top Box (STB), Home Media Center, Internet Streamer and more….in ONE easy to use package. The Spark2 user interface allows you to seamlessly switch between web browsing, watching Netflix, DVBS/S2 satellite programming, networked media files or local television. Share, watch and control from your laptop, desktop, Android tablet or IOS devices. Talk to your A3, it listens with voice control.
The typical STB of “yesterday” runs with a 200-600MHz clock speed. Yesterday’s STB’s are mostly “system on a chip” with limited expansion potential. They leave you at the mercy of the manufacturer for updates and features. Someone else decides what (if any) media & apps are available and when.

Dual core Cortex A9 running @ 1.5GHz. 1Gb RAM, 8Gb built in for applications. Internal SATA HDD bay. Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Choose from tens of thousands of Android apps such as Netflix, Youtube, Hulu Plus, Crackle, FilmOn, BBC iPlayer and more. Thousands of free games are also available on your A3. Install the latest XBMC 13.1 “Gotham” for a complete and powerful home media center experience. Amiko A3/XBMC caneven playLocal TV and Clear QAM using your Silicon Dust HD HomeRun device!

It doesn’t need to be that hard to set-up and enjoy using an advanced STB. AMIKO has a well proven track record of advanced STB’s that are easy to use yet offer advanced features. The Amiko A3 is the most friendly STB on the market, thanks to the Spark2 GUI. Choose from a simple to follow graphically based set-up or a more traditional hands-on manual custom configuration.

Legacy STB Web browsers have always been limited by a lack of Flash support. The A3 browser and the recommended Dolphin browser both support Adobe Flash 11. Watch video from NBC, ABC, FOX, Amazon Instant and thousands of other sites!

Voice search and text entry is not limited to a few voice enabled apps. This function works any text input field. Talk to Google search. Quickly find and switch satellite channels or apps. Dictate messages or talk with friends via Skype! The A3 remote sports other powerful features. Touch the Air Mouse key and gesture with the remote. The remote becomes an instant onscreen mouse and touchpad. Press the game key and it becomes a game controller for enabled Android games. Even an earphone jack for private listening!

The A3 has several media storage and sharing features. An internal bay is allows the installation of an optional 2.5″ SATA HDD. USB hard drives are also supported along with a microSD card slot. Amiko A3 easily integrates itself into your Windows home network, automatically scanning for shares across your local IP range.

Pre-installed current satellite database includes every true FTA satellite and TP between 8W-139W for North/South Americas. Adding or editing satellites can be done in seconds with the remote control. Control all configurations of switches and motor controls. Accurate USALS calculations and DiSEqC 1.2 motor set-up automatically stops the motor and requests to save the position when the satellite/active transponder is found and peaked! Blindscan is blazing fast and accurate. 97W KU scanned and logged in 2m 37seconds!

Perhaps the best part of Amiko A3 is that it is YOUR STB. You decide what features and apps you want installed. Unlike legacy STB’s, you are not dependent on the manufacturer or distributor for most updates. No more waiting on a Youtube fix or only being able to select from the limited content and apps that the manufacturer decides to support. Simply go to Google Play or various XBMC repositories, pick out the apps that you want, install and update when required or auto-update if you choose.
