£170k for tiny 'depressing' flat

A tiny flat the size of a snooker table - that needs a new kitchen and bathroom - has gone on sale for £170,000.

The pokey 11ft by 7ft pad in Chelsea, West London, costs the same price as the average UK home.

But potential buyers would need to spend another £30,000 to make the cramped basement livable.

It's actually a former janitor's storeroom that is full of builder's rubble.

Even the estate agents charged with its sale are realistic in their appraisal.

Jason North, of Lane Fox, said: "It is an incredibly depressing flat. We have to go in with a torch because the lights do not work."
