I'd definitely go with a Vu mate ... budget should only determine which version of the Vu you get but if you're really looking for a purchase you won't regret, go for the vu :)

I have experience with every Linux Box on the market, Vu's definitely my personal favourite :)

Vu+ models gives BEST value for money . Extremelly Stable hardware and very good software support. Have all 3 models and now waiting for the VU+ flagship - Ultimo :clapping:

I will stick with the excellent AZBox Premium Plus probably the best HD receiver to surface for 5 years,

I would consider another HD receiver provided they could resolve these modulation types:

1/DVB-S2/8PSK/ACM
2/DVB-S2/32APSK
3/RAS capability
4/4:2:2

As only the AZBox P+ is the only satellite receiver that can resolve 4:2:2 now used by 30% of feeds & 1 to 3 was just wishful thinking i will stick with the AZBox Premium Plus for now.

azbox ultra is cheaper and it can handle what azbox p+ does and more it is the best receiver i have up to now it also handles blind scan of course it has hdd and a great media center that can play mkv files

azbox ultra is lower spec then vuplus
Vuplus has better cpu/ram/ and support
apart from blind scann te vu+ is a better newer box.
The clarktec has even better spec then the vu+ and is a great box. i have the azbox and the software is as buggy as hell no support and its the sloest box i have my cuberevo/ipbox9000 is more stable.....
On the budget the vu+ is the way to go. or if ou can aford the little extra for the clarktec i would go for it. Mips boxes are the way to go.

Or you could go all tha way and buy a Dreambox DM7020HD or DM8000HD.
I got both, they are the best Mips/Enigma2 boxes you could buy now!

Are you a dealer for Dreambox then because even the Spiderbox 9000HD can do more than the Dreambox & is more user friendly :thum:

VU+ versus spiderbox9000

Thinking about getting a more modern box have a TM 5200 super. What are you thoughts about a spiderbox or a VU+ (SOLO OR DUO)

Thanks Sanddancer

Save us for your accusations.
This is my personal opinion, based on experience.
I have been using all kinds of digital recievers since the beginning.
DMM product have good support in almost every language.

But it all depends on what your looking for, and what your going to use your reciever for. You could just use a cheap China reciever if your just going to watch TV on a small TV.
If your going to use it for feeds, you would need one that supports 4:2:2
