Does anyone have a TBS5520SE USB Box and manage to get it working on Windows 10 with DVBDream?

I have installed the TBS5520SE Windows 10 Driver V1.0.0.5 which seems to install with no probs.

Connect to a laptop via USB blue power light comes on box

Launch DVBDream (have tried 3.3 and 3.4) which recognises the TBS5520SE ok, but I can't seem to get it to scan any channels in even from good known working high signal frequencies that can be picked up on a satellite receiver.

The best I have got on any frequency is about 9% signal but no channels found?

Have I got a duff box or is it a problem with the operating system/driver/software?

Any ideas?

Kind Regards

check your drivers I had problems getting mine to run on Win10

What am I checking for? The TBS5520SE Windows 10 Driver V1.0.0.5 installs fine without any probs?

Do you have this box? Which drivers and software do you use?

I have the TBS8922 PCI DVB-S2 TV Tuner Card and works great on my Windows 10 system.
In their site I found two sets of drivers, one called "Windows-driver" and the other "Win 10-driver". Installing the Win 10-driver will leave Unknown devices in the Device manager. Installing the Windows-driver covers everything and works fine.
Actually, I installed Win 10-drivers first and when I noticed Unknown devices in Device manager, I installed the Windows-driver right on top of it. So, you can try the same, it may just work.

You may also check cabling. If they are not tight enough it may degrade the signal.

It shows up in device manager under Sound, video and game controllers as TBS 5520 DVB BDA as soon as I connect the USB cable even without installing any drivers. I don't get any Unknown devices in device manager.

I have tried without the drivers, with TBS5520se_windows_driver_v1.0.0.5 and with tbs5520se-driver-win10-v1.0.0.5 and with both and made no difference at all. Cabling is fine I am using a known working cable from a working satellite receiver.

I have installed LAV Filters 0.70.2-88 Nightly 64-bit which didn't make any difference - I thought these were for displaying the picture rather than trying to get a signal on any frequency.

I am getting a new replacement TBS5520SE box tomorrow so I will be able to tell if it is the box (hardware) or not

Dears,
yesterday I received my new TBS 5520 SE.

The card seems ok, BUT I HAVE GREAT PROBLEMS TO MAKE IT WORK PROPERLY.

I have problems to make it recognize by softwares (Smartdvd, DVB viewer and progdvb) and after many attemps when I make it, it is enough to change satellite and sometimes even frequency to restart it again and struggle with software to make it recognize.
Then I did it only once to make work Diseq.

When the card decides to work, it is very good (tuner, t2-mi and multistrem).

I used even last drivers by the mighty Crazycat, but they are not working, a lot better with Florian's but I can't use diseq..... and I know it should work, once it did.... :(

This is not the way to enjoy it...

So I will pass next days trying to find help ......

any idea?

Best regards

Pierangelo

I use win 10, and the card seems recognise by the system with a usb pan as symbol in the tray.
I am using both usb plug (red and black)

Update: Resolved - replacement box working fine and old one returned.

I had massive problems with Disecq and DVBDream, I spoke to TBS about it and explained a few things. But not heard back from them. However I checked the TBS site today and Driver 1.0.0.6 is out and DVBDream is working perfectly now :)

This box is amazing for the money!

Anyone else having a problem with 5520SE on latest Windows 10 version (20H2)? Every time after I disconnect the card from USB and then reconnect it card won't lock any frequency. Only workaround is to reinstall the drivers and restart the PC and that's so anoying.

I have Windows 10 version 20H2, DVBDream v3.7.1 Repack works great for me, the procedure would look like this:
1. In Windows, first uninstall the old version, after uninstalling the folder remains C: dvbdream, be sure to delete it manually.
2. I run DVBDream v3.7.1 Repack.exe as Administrator, when the installation is complete I do not run DVBDream.
3. Then open the C: \ dvbdream \ devices folder- only streamReader.dll should be written here, not streamReader1.dll and streamReader2.dll (I delete one and rename the other to streamReader.dll)
4. Now I run DVBDream v3.7.1 Repack, in the Module List options I leave the ticks only on epgplus and powervuem, under the video options I set it as in the picture.
5. Under DiSEqC I place satellites 16E, 19.2E, 13E, etc. I start manual scanning, it works well and memorizes channels.
6. As there is no DVBDream icon at the end of the installation, I manually add it to the desktop. The next launch goes just by double-clicking on the DVBDream icon.
I hope that someone will benefit from this tutorial and have a nice time with DVBDream.

I have a problem with my TBS 5520SE card not with DVBDream. As I can see we don't have the same cards.
Svejedno, hvala što si pokušao pomoći.

I'm using drivers verion 1.0.0.7 (have not updated to 1.0.0.8) after a USB reconnect on the same USB port the stream ist back again after a short break with DVB Viewer with Media Server. With ALT DVB the program crash - after restart the app works again as expected changing programm works again. A driver reinstall isn't necesarry in both cases.

What's your operating system? Is it latest Windows 10?
