I have just moved into a static lodge where large dishes are not allowed so I gave my TM 6900 and dish to the chap who bought my home. So I have no sat equipment or anything with HDMI except my new Samsung 40" smart TV (and my old Toshiba 22"). Lovely TV but the problem is that the lodge has the HDMI lead built into the wall. So when I first tried to connect, the HDMI lead was a bit stiff but went in with a gentle push. It is connecting but gives no signal.? At first I thought it was the TV or lead so I tried all the tips I could get off the net. i.e. change the laptop resolution, change to multiple display etc etc. No go!. I thought I may have damaged the laptop port, so I tried it on the toshiba with a different lead and got the same "no signal". BUT.. the TV shows the microsoft progress loading bar before going "no signal". I will take my laptop to my daughters to try her TV or blueray to test the port, but I am truly baffled. Apparently from reading the net this is a common problem, any ideas?
