All of a sudden I can’t receive any channel on Astra 23.5E

Are any changes with the footprint??

I would be very surprised if the entire footprint of the satellite had changed, maybe your dish as moved. Can you check on other satellites to see if there is any difference in signal strength on other satellites?

Also, if you are in the UK and it is raining fairly hard, then the signals could be affected by that. It could also be that your dish/lnb is slightly
out of optimal alignment to pick up the signals. Finally, the worse case would be that your lnb has failed. After a while an LNB will eventually fail.

Anyway, good luck and I hope you find out what the problem is soon.

Lnb issue?
Misaligned dish/lnb skew
If motorised cable may be snagged on bracket
Tree etc now blocking signal, check line of sight.

  • Access the signal strength and quality menu on your satellite receiver or TV.
  • Ensure that both the strength and quality indicators are high (ideally above 80%).
  • If the signal is weak, you may need to adjust your satellite dish alignment or check for any obstructions.

Hi, I was wondering if others outside of immediate Czech/Slovak coverage zone are experiencing significant signal loss on HBO/Cinemax frequencies over the past month?
In my case, I’ve had 10-11 SNR level on a 85cm antenna or on the side of 110cm Triax with 13e in focus in Southern Finland, however, at least for the past month, if not longer, my SNR is at best 9.5db and if there’s some rain dropping below 8db which leads to complete loss of signal.

I would be quite surprised if the entire footprint of the satellite has changed. It’s possible that your dish has shifted. Could you check other satellites to see if there’s any difference in signal strength?

The problem at the time of my post was related to the satellite transfer between 3B to 3C which actually massively improved my reception of HBO/Cinemax channels at 14db atm since they ended up on the Eastern Spot later in October of last year. Unfortunately, my reception of Western Spot frequencies on the new 3C satellite is very minimal at 9-10db which is not stable in case of rain. I was hoping they would adjust the power levels on the western spot but so far nothing has improved.

Here in Spain the signal of the 3C East Beam is very weak.. I cannot lock with my 100 cm dish, for example, this frequency 11914 H 30000 (RTS Sat)...

I can confim and here as well in South East Europe Astra 3B had 12db signal in my wave frontier.
Now its between 10-11.5db with inverto ultra black lnb.

That's quite normal. They left Spain partly and Portugal completely out of the beam, who knows why..

Said frequency is being received with very strong signal here in Istanbul (T90 dish)

One would think they should minimize reception of the Eastern Spot channels specially in the UK rather than Spain considering that CZ offering of F1/PL events is very cheap and easy to acquire as opposed to what Sly is selling!
In my case, I don't have much to complain about although I have a very weak reception of NL channels on the Western Spot which I don't necessarily watch, the main Sports/Movies offerings are on Eastern Spot which in comparison to the old Sat has very much improved.

They didn't consider that exists a great number of CZ/SK/RS citizens, living in Spain, that cannot buy they offers and cannot watch their own TV stations because they need at least 120 cm dish for a minimum of signal... it doesn't make any logical sense...

They don't care about it.
All subscriptions (excluded some rare exceptions) can only be used inside the own country (because movies and sports rights are paid and intended only on the national territory).
So technically and legally shouldn't be any subscription taken outside the country and so no need to care about who lives in another country.

This is a valid point, however, you shouldn't forget the EU Roaming laws which makes accessing purchased digital content legally viable within the EU.
In this case CZ/SK providers could argue they offer the EU Roaming via their VOD services since there's no specific requirement to offer the roaming via Sat necessarily and it is up to the operator considering the costs.

True, but consider internet services have very low basic cost than satellite ones.
So in internet subscription there are already payed rights and loyalties and providers can offers services otuside the country as IPTV legally.
(those are the true services adressed to citizens who live in a foreign country).

I myself have a Focusat (satellite) subscription taken outside Romania (not legal) and a Kartina TV subscription (internet Russian TV) (legal) and sold in Europe ;)
