Well kind of, you still have to buy a one year sub to activate the 2 years. You then end up with 3 years.

Thats what i was going to post but i was unsure if you got 3 years of sp1 after your purchase or 1 year sp1 and 2 years basic server?

How i read it is if you add a SP1 or SP2 sub. Its then 3 years of SP.

You get 2 years for free when you first flash it with the special software.

But that is just the basic server, you have to add an SP1/2 sub to get the extra channels.

The first time you flash the special fw, it will active it on the server (and give you the 2 years basic server).

You update it with SP1/2 in the exact same way as you do the Viark, using the Spanish version sub.

With a spec DVB-S2X+T2/C H.265 IPTV 2GB RAM 16GB the Dual is fairly well specced to feature Android and Enigma 2 on the same receiver.

The Android side of this box is capable of using Forever SP codes. The Dual in my option is priced on the high side considering unlike the Viark range there is no attached Forever sub and you need to seek a SP code for it.

Booting up the box seem quick and the initial setup is time date and location.

Once booted we need to Flash the latest firmware.

There are two options

Qviart DUAL PT (1.07) This is to be used if you have a Dual already and have flashed PT firmware previously.

For most if you are setting up the dual from the box youll need the following firmware.

Qviart DUAL (Special)

DOWNLOAD

To flash this firmware is simple download it and extract the rar file to a fat32 formatted USB stick.
Insert the usb stick in the front slot of the Qviart Dual.
On your remote, navigate to Main Settings-Update-USB
Select the update bin file and press ok.

Now Factory Reset the dual and then flash

PT 1.07

DOWNLOAD

Go make a coffee or beer you'll need a beer later

After booting youll be greeted with a very clean and well laid out UI

At this point we need to do a factory reset this is very important or the receiver will not behave properly.

To do this on your remote navigate to Settings-Personal-Reset
Select reset all and press ok.

Complete the basic settings and then we can start to setup the sat side and channels.

On the front screen select Channel search.

You be greeted with this

If you have a motor scroll down to usuals first and enter your coordinates

Exit that and then select motor

On The satellite option at the top scroll <> on the remote and select all the sats on your arc and set each one to usuals and exit.

Now Select Antenna Settings.

At the bottom you see the Start Search option, this has multiple choices and this is where the Dual has bugs.

Satellite search does not move the dish after hitting OK
Multi Sat Search will cause the box to freeze as you start the search.
Blind scan also freezes the Dual but a second attempt may complete it scan but its not a given.

So here is my workaround to manually search all sat positions and get the motor to move to the correct position in the arc

On the top option of the Antenna Configuration, Highlight Satellite
Press the ok button and select the first position you want to scan and press the OK button, then again this will move the dish to the correct position.
Scroll down to start search and press ok

The search will now reliably start

After the search completes, reboot the box fully and commence with your next search till you have completed your full arc.

I'll attach my list for those that want to save time it includes all major sats from 45e to 30w

If you need your serial number youll find that under

Main Setting-Device-About and select status and press ok.

The EPG on the Dual has a Nice UI but like Viark the EPG itself is not full

The remote for the box is excellent smooth operation no clicking but i could not get the learning feature to work.

Its nearly the same other than upgrades to server 146 and seems to open the channels a bit faster.

You have to go from stock to the "special" version and then to 1.10 (the older versions no longer work).

1.07 has been the best firmware so far in my opinion. As has been said your forced to use later version to have the latest server.

I had to update it to 1.10 as some of the good channels were pixelating and glitching with the old f/w all of a sudden.

Can anyone who uses the E2 side of this receiver tell me if they are able to open icam channels on 28.e or 19e with openpli based images. I find that using an icam channel list locks the receiver up for minutes with what looks like a tuner busy problem, and the option to select streamrelay via the channel list and selecting has been removed. Other images are fine just openpli based images.

Glad its not just me, i googled and found a thread that says the option to use steam relay was removed on images based on version 9 images. I have tried going back to images based on 8.3 but still not go. All other images are fine.

Icam on my 8008 and me UE works fine with OpenPLi based images, it really is just the Dual OpenPLi images.

That was my next port of call was to test on my solo 4k but i don't remember having the issue. I just wish openpli could fix the issues with the tuner locking up on the dual then we could use icam channel lists. I have asked them on their forum but really have got nowhere. I once pointed out the issue to openbh and they fixed the issue within hours.
