Pre-match: Liverpool V Man Utd (a) - Premier League

It is the biggest match of the season so far.A game in which we see Vidic,Smalling and Cleverley all return to the fold.

Goalkeeper
There is no doubt in my mind that David De Gea will get the nod and so he should. He has hardly put a foot wrong since the West Brom game. His distribution is probably the best in the Premier League and he has made some crucial saves in games to save our skin.He will be back a day sooner than the senior international squad members i think because U21s usually play a day before the senior team.

Defence
Vidic's return couldn't have come sooner with our defence currently vulnerable to a lot of shots conceded on goal.United have conceded the most number of shots on goal this season than any other team. With Ferdinand not playing for England in the next 2 weeks,I expect him to start alongside Vidic at centre of defence for this one.No matter how well Jones,Evans and Smalling have done recently, when fit, there is no better defence in the world that is as good and has as good a understanding as Ferdinand and Vidic.I expect Evra to start at LB.The big dilemma for the boss is who will he pick at RB.Will it be the fit-once-again Smalling? Or the in-form Phil Jones? I think I will go with Jones, purely because I just love him too much to leave him out and also is in very good form bar that Basel game.

Midfield
This game also provides the timely return of Tom Cleverley. It is also worth noticing that since Cleverley's injury,Ando's displays v Chelsea,Stoke,Basel and most recently Norwich haven't been to the standard of his display until Bolton game.In all those 4 games, our performances were uninspiring. So with Cleverley returning,I think our old Ando can turn up and help us get the win.Until now, both have played the game v Barca(pre-season),City,WBA,Spurs,Arsenal.And we each of those displays,we were phenomenal..It's almost certain Nani and Young will also start this fixture.

Forward
Rooney will definitely start this game.Hopefully, with the return of all our key players, even he can return to goal scoring form which he produced earlier in the season. His strike partner choice is going to be an interesting one.Welbeck has been in sensational form and deserves a start IMO.Hernandez has had a few injuries since the Bolton game. But he seems to have recovered from them to start for Mexico in the international games.Since the int'l fixtures have been shifted a day earlier,Hernandez should be back in Manchester by Thursday evening, instead of Friday.I think that should give the manager some head-ache as to who should start.Berbatov will almost certainly be on the bench. But I wouldn't rule him out starting either.last season he was one of our better players at Anfield and produced one of the best individual performances i've ever seen when he netted a hattrick at Old Trafford. With both Welbeck and Hernandez on international duty,if they play the Tuesday before the game,I wouldn't rule out Berbatov starting because he has no international games having retired from them.

MY TEAM:

DE GEA

JONES FERDINAND VIDIC EVRA

NANI CLEVERLEY ANDERSON YOUNG

ROONEY WELBECK / HERNANDEZ / BERBATOV

I am more confident going into this fixture than I have ever been in the past 5 seasons to be honest.I think we'll win if we get all our key players playing in this one.

Prediction: Liverpool 1-2 Man Utd.
