Post Office plans TV delivery
The Post Office is studying the possibility of launching an IPTV service along the lines of BT Vision. It is not known if the Post Office would launch its own IPTV network or look for a white label partner. The plans are understood to be at a very early stage, but would be a logical move for the company, which today launches its own broadband internet service and already has 40,000 customers signed up to its HomePhone landline service.
The Post Office is looking to extend the variety of services it offers its customers in a bid to make the business more profitable. Plans are currently being drawn up to close 2,500 rural branches.
