hi there i have tm1500 that is not patched but if i patch it will it muck up my vbox and sat? because thats what i have been told?and by patching will i lose all my channels?

Don't fully understand your question, but don't believe half of what you're told! Do you homework by reading around on these forums and you shouldn't have any grief.
'Patching' refers to firmware upgrades, usually beyond the manufacturers official spec, enhancing your box and it's capabilities.

Some use can be illegal, and because it's unofficial you could invalidate any warranty, but hey, life's too short!

Upgrading the firmware shouldn't delete any channel lists, but if you use the right loader softwares you can upload as well as download in order to back-up stuff you don't want to risk losing. Anyhow if you've not patched, when you do, you'll want to rescan for all those extra channels you might find open!:thum:

I agree you need to keep your box upto date for it to work to your advantage.
Read up on all the info in these forums and you shouldn't go wrong.
