orton x403 firmware

ok had post deleted in firmware section want to update my orton x403p but the most up to date firmwares do not state a remote ie old remote new remote and others do
so my question is the firmware that does not state a remote version safe to use if you have a box with the old remote and also for anyone that may have a new remote
little confussed on this as know i have old remote but some firmware does not state which remote it is compatible with so is it compatible with both style remotes
sorry if i sound a bit of an ass but this box is still new to me and very happy with it and do not want to brick it

Hi,

I have a similar box and from my understanding the old remotes are the clones from China. if you down load firmware for new remotes, your remote will not work and vice versa. The good thing is that you can always reload the appropriate software once you know you have the wrong one by using the remote. I have done this and it is very easy to reload the software using the receiver buttons.
