my yumatu ALI 3602a has a usb connector build-in and it is much more easier than serial
when receiver has a USB included , the receiver has a menu that enable you to to do all throught usb port of the RECEIVER in a few seconds!

my receiver's usb menu has got only below options:
file list
storage information
pvr setting
usb speed test
remove usb safely
hdd format

it seems it is not meant for connection with pc through usb cable
shall i try connect it to pc with usb cable and see if our alieditor program sees the receiver??

backup & upgrade throught USB key

do you mean i should connect usb on pc to usb on receiver?
or use usb-serial emulator on pc and connect receiver to pc with null modem cable?
hi
in fact when you backup the whole (full) software (firmware)
you will be able to "extract" from this firmware
1)channels
2)keys
3)firmware
you can use a key-editor to work with it
you can use a channels editor to work with it
do not forget to make a backup of your files
when done

you will be able to "upgrade" choosing the good option to the receiver
when you choose "boot+...." option , you will loose the favorites and keys
in this case , use your backup keyfiles or channels files

nooooooooooooo

i got you.. :thum:
it should be done only with db-9 null cable
i try to explain that
you must use an USB memory key that everybody can insert in several device !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
one is called SCANDISK 256 MB or intenso 16 giga
watch out warning
DO not connect receiver directly with another device like PC computer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you have only to (transport) move the file from the PC to the receiver ..........using a memory key called USB key

ok, how do i access receiver data in the alieditor program then?
when i take backup to the usb key, it is giving .abs file in the usb key
does alieditor open this .abs file and extract all our information like:
a) firmware
b) keys
c) channel list?

nope :mecry:
i tried aligning a satellite dish today -first time in my life and its a total failure without any clue..

as i already said, i'm trying to set up a motorized installation
my location is 80.6 and so i'm trying to lock on insat4a @ 83E

at first my x403p box didn't have insat4a listed in its firmware but i added it after editing f/w dump in alieditor and putting it back into the receiver (thanks to satamuse)

now i can see this bird (insat4a) in the list and when i choose it in usals menu, motor is going where it think 83E is but signal is not going beyond 5%

i tried moving left/right directions and adjusted elevation but still no signal

is it that i have to add tp first and then only i'll see the signal strength?

pls get back
thank you

insat 4a

hi
lnb noise should be 0.2
polarisation is " H "

elevation

Frequency,Polarity Logo Name of Channel Package Mode,Video Encryption SR FEC SID V-PID NID TID Audio Lang.

11.050............................................................................................................................30000...5/6.............210..15
is it that i have to add tp first : ....................yes
and then only i'll see the signal strength?.......yes

if you do not know what to do to find your insat 4a or one of its transpondor , try this
on a working 11050 frequency where you have a signal
input 30000 + 5/6
now turn slowly the parabol to the right (only a little for 3°) and you should see the signal
tell if you were successfull
