thanks guys

thank you can anyone tell me if any of this stuff i have is useful
over 10 years old...

The old cards are probably no good but I am not familiar with what services they were used for.
Any satellite dishes will still be OK provided they are not damaged, same applies to any Universal LNBF's or restricted range LNB's that are often used on Optus D1, D2 and D3 for Ku-Band

As for the satellite receivers, it depends on the make/model and what use you hope to get from them.
The more modern receivers will have functionality for 4K, DVB-S2X and IPTV. However, for satellite reception up to and including normal HD a 10 year old receiver should still be OK.

Thanks for your reply moonbase

The Satellite Receiver is a
Strong SRT 4910 HD Conax Cas7 which requires the Iredo modules to place the sat cards in
looking everywhere to find them
and the Vast one model DSD4121 for Australian channels was C1 - D2?
the Sat Disk is a Portable one which is 65 cms Dia

What would i need to be seeing free stuff
in US China and UK etc
i don`t know where to start just yet
in Victoria Gippsland

You will have probably have no direct line of sight to most European or USA satellites from Victoria, Australia.
You should be OK for Asian satellites.

There is an online website and mobile app called Dishpointer. You can use it to see what satellites are visible at your precise location.

looking at a 1.8 Metre Dish Mesh type will the help me in my plans to see other Satellites

Personally, I would not use a mesh dish for Ku-Band unless for single satellite use that has powerful downlink frequencies such as Optus D3 at 156E for the Foxtel frequencies.
A mesh dish is fine for C-Band multi satellite use but for Ku-Band multi-satellite use I would used a solid dish.

The members on the Austech forum will have specialised local knowledge of what is required for multi satellite use from an Australian location.
You might get a better response to questions about the more technical aspects on that forum?
