Newb questions

Hi all

Just got a dish installed and getting ready to move from VM cable in anticipation of Nag3.

Been reading up on CS HD1 and have a couple of queries.......

Does the sat system work in a similar way to dBox2 DVB-C? Flash an image to the CS HD1, scan and go, or do I need a hardware CAM and cards, too?

There isn't a cable version out yet afaik.
Other then that it is similar to dbox2. As to the question if you need hardware cams and cards depends on what you want to watch and how. There is mgcamd on it so you can use it in combination with key files to watch whatever is available atm with emu.
Newcs works on it so you should be able to read most cards internal slots or external reader connected to usb.

Thanks for that, m8. Just what I'd hoped.

There will be a cable version CS HD1 coming soon, I gather, but in view of VM moving to NAG3, it won't be much use here unless you buy subs or someone can be persuaded to hack it. I understand NAG3's been around for some years, tho', and so far it hasn't been.

I'll have to check out what's available where on sat and whether I'll need hardware CAM and cards when I've got a box and got going with mgcamd. No doubt I'll be back for more advice for that...
