In short I'd defiantly call it a good value for the money.
It is easier to sum up downsides then to list good things.

At least personally what I find as downsides is that mgcamd doesn't work that good with cccam 2.1.2 or 2.1.3 at least with servers I tried. It works great with cccam 2.1.1.
But hopefully that will be fixed in some new releases or oscam will add cccam client support.

No capability of playing some video formats on it. But they added mkv in latest official firmware and I assume some solution can come from unofficial sources. There is some test versions of mplayer, don't know where that will lead to.

No shutdown option atm.

Dvb subtitles on some channels not working that great, they seem to be slightly off sync or go away too soon. I don't really use them so I didn't notice that right away.

Other then that no complaints. The most stable firmware out of the boxes I've tried (dm500, dm7000, ipbox9000,kathrein910). And most of the above mentioned downsides can be sorted with time.

Does Nagra3 (tvcabo and D+) works for you via cccam?

I cannot get them working connecting to cccam peers with tvcabo.

I'm thinking to buy one of these guys but things are still going very slowly. It is normal that most of the issues are software issues and I agree that in time this receiver could be a very good receiver. However, I prefer to wait a bit longer and use my old DM7000 till support for this receiver reaches a higher level.

thanks for the short review Rocknroll

Hi

Does the Coolstream handle 1080p?

DM800 only handles 1080i and 720p

There is two options with 1080p in digital video mode list. 1080p/24hz and 1080p/25hz.

Btw oscam now has capability of being a cccam client. And it works pretty good.

Can you make a howtoo how this can be set up?
And does it work with CCcam 2.1.3 as server?

What about a as a GBox client ?
I currently use MGCamd on my 800HD and Kathrien 910HD
as a client (in-house)
Considering just moding an image myself with gbox or mgcamd.
Unless there is already a good one with MGCamd already installed
or on a server.
Well, a bit early, have to get the unit first, should be here
next week......seems they had motherboard problems and europe
has been starved for units for weeks, been waiting since the 6th
of Nov.....

pixels problem

What do you think about pixels problem on some HD channels.
Someone told me it is hardware failure – the main board change is necessary.
I've tried solving that problem by many ways like antenna setting, cable replace, change software and the end I will have to send my box to repair.

Well just got hold of one of these last week second hand as the guy had for 2 years and could only scroll to channels by alphabetical order with all satellites, it also was dented on the top of the box so gave him a tenner to take it off his hands.
So with some reading on here and trail and error got it fully functioning with Cccam but not yet with Oscam, so if any one can point me in the right direction that would be fantastic.
All in all, great picture quality, HDMI, Scart, USB, RS32, Esata and built in 3D games, so much better than my DM500s, just love it.

Thank you for all the tutorials
