GTX - AX1000 router and Wireguard.

I have the above Asus router, which I am very happy with.
It currenly runs Auswrt / Merlin firmware.

I use an openvpn on it when I feel the need, but understand that wireguard allows the router to run with much faster speeds.

I have looked at the router interface and see no trace for an option for wireguard.

I guess, I will need to flash a different firmware.

Does anyone know any good firmwares for my router? My Internet supplier is 'Cuckoo', they piggyback off Talk Talk. Not had any problems with them at all.

Auswrt-Merlin now supports WireGuard on this router.
Can anyone tell me, is it just a matter of inserting my VPN username and password?
I have not yet flashed the software. Any advice greatly received.

Fed up with having my 1GB internet service knocked down to around 350 MB when running OpenVPN on my router.
