Samsung will launch the Galaxy Beam in February introduced in Germany on the market. According to an announcement by Samsung Mobile Germany the phone will be in this country "soon" available. The suggested retail price is 429 €.
As the name suggests, the Galaxy has a built-Beam pico projector, which allows content such as videos and photos projected on walls. The built-in projector at the upper side of the device reaches a brightness of 15 lumens and is intended to produce images with a size of up to 1.30 meters.
Apart from this special feature is the Galaxy Beam is a smartphone in the mid-range. However, it is delivered with the outdated version of Android "Gingerbread" (2.3.6). Whether there will be an update at a later date on the latest Android 4.0 is currently unknown.
The Galaxy Beam has a 4 inch (10.2 centimeter) touch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The centerpiece is an unspecified dual-core processor with 1 GHz clock speed, 768 MB of available memory on the page. 8GB of flash memory are supplemented by a microSD slot that supports memory cards with up to 32 GB.
