Doncaster Crown Court has agreed to a second appeal from 'Twitter joke trial' defendant Paul Chambers.

Thursday, December 23 2010,

David Allan Green tweeted the announcement yesterday to the delight of David Mitchell, who originally heavily criticised the decision.

He wrote: "Good news! Doncaster Crown Court has agreed to our application for an Appeal to the High Court."

Chambers was earlier this year found guilty of writing a message of "a menacing nature", after he quipped that that the then-closed Robin Hood Airport had just over a week to reopen before his planned flight or he would blow it "sky high".

The trainee accountant was fined £1,000, before launching an appeal, which was rejected by Judge Jacqueline Davies on every account.
