Dm800 clone what plug-in for media files?

I have been using the DM800 as a media client (VLC) for a year. It works, but last week I gave up on it, as I experienced the following: problems playing .vob files (ripped DVDs), occasional crashes, occasional dropped frames, fast forward/rewind has poor granularity and can be flakey.
Just for fun I tried playing a movie on my PS3 and I was blown away by the reliabilty, quality (through upscaling) and the dynamic thumbnails. So I popped in a 500 GB disc, purchased a blu-link remote control (that controls my PS3, Dreambox, plasma TV, and Denon amp) and copied all of my media locally on the PS3 using a free streaming program called PS3mediaserver. Another bonus of the PS3 is that you get a free Blueray disc player.
To me DM800 + PS3 = multimedia perfection :thum:
