Sadly, like Vu+, the tuners are only 1080i, not 1080p [not sure in DM 8000 HD, AZbox HD is 1080p]:

Code:
http://et-view.com/download/specs/

I can't see anything about "blindscan" or 4:2:2.

Any more info, guys?

1080p

1080p
Quote:

Doesn't work yet. I would not really consider this as a bug, because the box is not being advertised to be able to output 1080p content. However, Dreamboxes and VU+ can do it, and on both it was implemented during development. I'm quite sure that technically the box is able to output 1080p as well, it's just not yet implemented in the drivers.

When I enable the 3 1080p resolutions in AR plugin and play back a 1080p file, the actual output resolution changes to 576i even though the info window of AR plugin states the intended 1080p resolution.

The output of 1080p content with 1080i works fine. All media files I tested so far work fine, including DTS audio. Navigating within media files work WAY better than on the VU+. On the VU+, when I played 1080p files with DTS audio, the playback itself was ok, but fast-forwarding, rewinding, skipping or changing audio track where often choppy or even caused the box to hang. On the ET9000 I could not observe any such issues so far. So I'd say once they implemented 1080p support, this is also a great media player.

Have Fun

Thanx!:thum:

So, you think it is just a matter of when, not if...?

However, you are talking of media player capabilities.

What of the tuners, then? If they are 1080i - can that be improved by improved drivers to 1080p also?

Cheers!

Are these on-board or PnP, does anyone know for sure, please?

I've seen someone say they are on the motherboard, not PnP.

Blindscan, maybe?

Thanx, that's the answer I got on C-T forum, too.

Others think it's a HW issue.

We'll see, in time... ;)

However, how about:

1) blindscan

2) 4:2:2

HW or SW [drivers] issues?

Cheers!

It seems tuners capability of blindscan is HW related.

On the other hand, they claim that 1080p and 4:2:2 are both drivers/SW related, so can be improved upon by latter developments...

Stay tuned, as it were... 'scuze the pun... :D
