There is currently no way to view biss-2 feeds unless the RX8200 or appropriate receiver is registered with the EBU database and has the appropriate permission for the feed in question.
You can load biss-2 firmware into an RX8200, no problem. However, the receiver still needs registration and permission via the EBU.

This situation is likely to remain, receivers and TBS cards will continue to be unable to clear biss-2 feeds.
Hi @moonbase, thank you for this, yes i understand this being the case. its the reason i am sceptical in investing in a RX8200 device as i suspect most legaues will move over to BISS 2 in the next few years. this is why i am exploring the cheaper option of using a sat pcie card. But i wanted to know if its possible to achieve the same or better latency using the card and vlc player vs the rx8200 IRD?

Thanks

With a constant bringing up of the "latency issue", even though we told you that there is none when it come to a pcie dvb sat cards + vlc, you a kind of remind me of a man that reads a lot about sex and knows it all, but never tried it out. Dude, relax... buy a sat-card and watch the sat-feeds before they switch to biss-2. :giggle:

lol what can i say , i like assurances, i have the card and its all set up, but as we are out of season i don't think i have found a game to watch and test against the streaming sites i have been using. Sorry no more talk about latency :)

There are 4:2:2 feeds for non soccer events. You do not have to wait until the soccer season resumes to test things out.
If you have been using streaming sites to view feeds then I can assure you that your own setup will provide faster pictures unless the streaming sites are using drones or something like facetime as a picture source.

The streaming site has to decode the pictures from whatever source they use then upload to a web page, your own direct setup eliminates the step of uploading to a web page.

Another point to consider now that I have mentioned drones and sources such as facetime is that any satellite uplinks are subject to delay added by "the van men". The "vanners" have the option to introduce delay via the menu setup of the encoder in their van that uplinks the satellite feed. A drone/factime picture source operated by a "privateer" would presumably not have additional delay to the pictures as it would defeat the purpose of putting the drone in the air or sending a facetimer to the venue.

Thank you for the detailed explanation, i am currently using a site that streams the content using sat ird feed. so i agree the set up should be faster. thanks again for your help

Hi, have anyone got VLC player working using EBS Pro integration VLC (UDP)? i used the Auto-Config option, but can only get the TCP version working.

Yes, working OK for me.
Thanks buddy, are you able to share your settings with what i have to see what could be the issue?

in the command line i have -

{proto}://@:{net_port} :meta-author=Cjcr-Software :meta-artist="{srvname} ({srvprov})" :meta-title="{freq} {pol} {sr} / RF: {rflevel} SNR: {snr} | {sat} @ {curr_dev_name}" :meta-copyright="EBSpro" :input-timeshift-path="{data_folder}" :input-record-path="{data_folder}" :no-input-record-native --snapshot-path="{data_folder}VLC_snapshot.jpg" --snapshot-format=jpg --network-caching=500 --no-qt-video-autoresize --program={sid}

If you insist on using udp protocol than install vlc version 2.2.6 (here is a windows 64bit version > link).
Higher vlc versions have problems with MTU size when using udp.

TBS did not serve its customers. They did not respond to me. Users of TBS products. I spoke with customer service and technical support to resolve the issue with the 6504 satellite card due to no blind scan. I had a 6522 card with the same specifications that supports blind scanning using the EBS PRO program, and this card was able to work. The company is able to solve the problem and they say that the balls do not support blind search. This point unfortunately is a business scam. They try customers to buy other products and say that they support blind search, and there is evidence for this statement.
