Seems hard to find inverto c120 quad lnb I think the were stopped from production.

butchy,

Buy any old C120 dead or working inverto or invacom LNB and take off the C120 flange fitting. Throw the rest of the LNB in the bin.
Buy an Inverto black ultra quad and remove the feed cone then transplant the C120 flange from the binned LNB onto the Inverto black ultra using resin or bonding putty.

Job done.

Or, buy wan from the Spanish eBay seller who does the same thing then sticks 'em on eBay for wages.

Or, ask "Rima" if he will knock wan up for you.

@moonbase is this where you were thinking theres a ripple in the dish, see attached picture where i have put a mark.
i texted the owner of the dish to ask him was there a ripple in the dish face, said he will take a close look tomorrow.

i think maybe could be cause by the round ring on the back of the dish thats bolted on,as thats all the area where the round ring is at the back of dish.

Look lower to the right at the very edge hairline crack and slight dent .
what you have marked its impossible to know if that is a ripple or not you'd really need to inspect for yourself in person to see for sure what that might be if anything at all its not obvious to me at least .

that wee dent you pointed out is not on the dish face area so not affect to performance, that hairline you noted is a scratch i think.as you cannot crack aluminium like that.
if you look down to the left of that scratch you will see another one down from it near bottom.

Yes, the area you have drawn around is where I thought there might be a ripple.
Personally, I think the other areas look like scraches through the paintwork, I have got a few similar scratches on a dish 'ere that is awaiting a respray.

If the parabolic surface is all OK then the dish will perform as intended, the dirt, scratches and and other cosmetic imperfections will not impact reception.

You really need to go and inspect the dish before buying it.
Takes some green and wave it at the seller, once he sniffs yoyos he might sweeten up to less than a deuce.

heres a lock i had on espn/foxsports last summer on my mabo 1.8m while i was experimenting on a fine warm summers day.it came dropping and going up,as in one minute it was over 10db next it was not locking.so not sure it was done with a very old chaparal lnb which i had to wire to select H and V polarity via a servo switch.and yes that frequencey is circular using a homemade plate from a white plastic chopping board.

@butchyboy

Compared to reports from some of the UK users with a 1.8m, your signal level of 10.2dB is good.
You might be getting a bit more of the footprint beam being further West in Ireland?

If you get 10.2dB from a 1.8m, at the same location you could expect approximately 11.1dB from a 2.0m and 12.7dB from a 2.4m.

Yes, I thought you were South East Ireland, I used "West" in the sense of more Westerly than the UK

When I check C-Band I use a 2.0m dish, last time I recorded the levels a few days ago I got approx 10.3dB +/- a few tenths of a dB for ESPN from 40.5W.
Same dish gets used for Ku-Band and Ka-Band so I often swap the feed assemblies about.

You are getting a good signal level with your 1.8m

why do you bother with ka band if you do not mind me asking,as for me theres nothing there in terms of premier league footy or darts etc i know some parts of the south uk can catch irish RTE but i,ve heard there livesports are not available on saorsat, you might correct me as i,ve no interest in RTE as i have that here on digital terresterial.

what brand is your 2M dish is it a prodelin ?

No problem you asking butchy, there is sometimes cricket and soccer on Ka-Band, not often but sometimes.
For what it is, Ka-Band is expensive to setup considering the low amount of useful sports feeds on there and does not really justify the cost.

My 2m dish was made by Precision Antennas, UK company now closed. It is a single piece spun aluminium dish.
In keeping with my addiction to dishes, I have the 1.2m and the 1.5m models of the same manufacturer but only got the 1.5m installed.

April last year I could get 10.2db. Late last year I couldn't get over 9.2db and still today. Sure it's Not my setup . Think Nelson agreed in a post also. If you're still getting 10.2 db then fair enough but I'm sure certain it ain't my end. Can't u verify with what your now getting ?
