I've got several GI-209P today. :) Friend of mine bought them in Slovakia and sent to me.

Usually, if the old dish is not damaged, then it's performance more or less the same as a new. But you can be a first one to check whether it is like that..... buy 20y old one and another one completely new, install them side by side and do some tests :cool:

I think it is still possible to get (ebay) Invacom flange LNB. Even used one should be OK. Then you will only need to attach feedhorn for PFA. The black ring on the pictures is just a plastic spacer between OD of the feedhorn and ID of the LNB-holder (usually 65mm).

I fully agree with you. That is why I like to have all feedarms length-adjustable and also to have possibility to adjust position of the LNB and the scalar independently.

Inspired by discussions in this thread, made this Frankenstein. That is why I am saying that buying out-of-shelf is much easier, cheaper and ready to be used out of the box. Unfortunately, I do not have PFA installed to test performance.

Very simple correlation.... Quad will cost you at least 5x more than the cheapo Single. And also, when you have tested different options, you can compare performance results to understand what is good and what is not. I can not recommend this Quad for you, as I did not have it and just googled...

I would recommend to start from Single LNB, get reception results and only then think about many-output LNB. :censored:

There is no need (but also almost no ways) to physically upgrade Ku-band LNBF. But there are several ways for improving performance of the system. Firstly, check the geometry of the dish. It should not have any dents or be warped. Secondly, place the LNBF in such a way that it's phase center...

No, that does not mean it at all. This conical scalar is for C-band LNB, but IBU is Ku-band LNB. Actually, IBU is LNBF (not LNB), as it has integrated feedhorn.

I am sorry, I disagree. If on the same size offset and PFA dishes proper feeds are used then performance will be the same. Shadowing effect from the feed on PFA can be neglected. So, I think that upgrade from 1.8m offset to 2m PFA will give considerable improvement of performance. So...

There are 3 sets of holes with distance between them 178mm (as CM 120 has), so CM antennas can go directly to the plate.

TS decided to have new declination&elevation eyebolts out of SS as well as adapter plate for an offset antenna. I wish him luck installing and adjusting all that. :cool:
