Out of curiosity bud - which box do you prefer GT Media UHD v Viark (ease of use, hardware, setup etc)

Just excuses from Viarksat

Starsat and other MENA receivers recently got new firmware updates from China (before the new year holiday)

The upgrade to 1.44 will happen without any firmware update i was told

Hopefully when the upgrade happens sky IT will be back

Viarksat have not said it's because of Chinese New year, myself and others have summised that's the reason as it is currently chinese new year period.
GT media have not had upgrades either.

How can I make excuses? From viarksat All updates come from one source, the Chinese Global company , and it is true manic1 They are all on vacation, they are finally back to work. And updates were stopped on all geant /viarksat/starsat/echolink tomorrow all engineers return there will be updates for all companies recivers vocation has. Started 8-02

They have More than 15 days of vacation Holidays did not arrive. Updates.
For example Starsat is the latest update before. The holiday see attached files
is just a simple note. Android devices always have updates that are intermittent. Months. Except for important updates such as server upgrades
Devices without Android are the ones that receive more updates, and most of them are useless updates just to add iptv applications.Just change the software number

Nobody said you were making excuses.

Yes all these last updates were before the chinese Holiday but they are still new.

However, according to barney the last update Viark got was since last year (2023). So apparently Viark got newer updates from China but did not release them for some reason.

Yes, Android devices receive updates not every month. This is why you should Do not compare a non-Android device with an Android device. did not receive updates during the new years, for example.srx3 this android 7 see pic last update 5-12-2023

Is Viarksat 4K android? I honestly thought it was ALI receiver just like Starsat 4K 200 Extreme

I know Viark Droi is android but I thought normal Viarksat 4k is not android

Viarksat 4K according to barney did not receive an update from 2023, although almost all ALI 4k receivers got updates this year that added some small features

There seems to be a lot of confusion here, Updates were available on viark sat and viark 4K in Nov 2023

Updates are for correction. Problems: Perhaps Viark Sat engineers did not request an update to solve or add any new feature I spoke in general to clarify. I thought he meant But the Chinese work with several companies and they are the ones who send updates, So far, the server upgrade 144 update has not arrived Now we just have to wait

Does anybody know the technical reason why Sly UK SD channels don't open on Forever? The official HD subscription cards open SD channels too, so they have the correct tiers active

They haven't added the sid's for most of the SD channels, either because they can't be bothered, they show SD channels on a different (lower) subscription or because they want to keep load down on the servers.

There is no "technical" reason for them not to open.
